Something That I Enjoyed Doing Alone
One thing I enjoy doing most is to play my Nintendo DSI. It is a normal double screen game machine with many improved upgrades including a camera. My passion for playing my DS all started two years ago when I did well in my studies and therefore, my father rewarded me by giving me one of these. After about a year and a half, my brother accidentally sat on my game and made the screen spoil. I was devastated but relieved to know it could still be used just that the screen was lose. I had stuck with this for about a year now but everything changed about three months ago when my father bought me the newest version of the machine, the Nintendo Double Screen I or DSI for short.
My brother watched in awe as I received the present with glee, from my father. I was over the moon, resembling a dog with two tails. He jealously watched as I excitedly turned the machine on. Noticing his expressions, my father smiled and walked away. However, there was a negative point. I became hooked up onto the game, and could not stop playing, till the battery ran out and I had to charge it again.
As we all know, time flies when you do not notice it. It was as if the minutes and hours had turned into seconds and in the blink of an eye, the December holidays were over. My mother then told me that I would be allowed to play on the first and second day of the New Year. I was elated. A week before the holidays, my father came back from yet another overseas trip and he had bought my brother another DSI. We were both ecstatic, almost immediately, my little brother turned the machine on and started playing. My mother noticed our addiction to the game and said she would lock these up when school reopens.
Anyway, yesterday I was given the privilege to play my DSI , along with m brother. I was as pleased as punch as I knew this was a once in a blue moon opportunity and did not waste anytime. I sat quietly at the sofa, playing my games. I really enjoy playing these games as they have a storyline and in order to find out more about it, you would have to play it. I played throughout the day, taking it as a rest day as I had finished all my work and got a Distinction for my Music Theory Exam. This therefore, I treated it as a reward and other than doing my daily activities including taking twenty minute breaks from now and then, I did not stop.
AS the day came to an end, I reluctantly gave my DSI back to my mother but I knew that this was for my studies and that I would get addicted if I was allowed to play everyday. I really look forward to the Chinese New Year which is just round the corner as I can play again then. I really am grateful to my father for such a wonderful gift.
