Something Unusual That Happened That day

What kicked off as a normal and boring day of my life today really changed as I was just sitting at home, in my room, relaxing behind my computer. While chilling out at home slurping my Ice Lemon tea and watching episode twelve of ‘Heroes’season 4 , I thought it would be another perfect day to relax and waste my time away. It was at that moment I was interrupted, by some persistent ringing of the doorbell.

It was my sister and her friends, which I thought were just some boring sixteen year old teenagers. Moodily, I went back into my room, resuming my show and going back into my ‘‘heaven’’. I watched episode after episode, finally, I had finished the season, up to where it had so far been shown to anyway. I then decided to go outside and join in my sister and her bunch of friends to play cards. The best part was that the loser had to prank call a person they knew with another’s phone.

After many rounds, we grew bored of the games and decided to have a series of outdoor games at the beach, which was a few minutes walk from my house. In the blink of an eye, we were all set to go. My mother worried that they would not look out for me and was against me going. After my persistent pleas, she reluctantly let me go, on a condition: Be back home by 8 in the night. I was so excited that I resembled a dog with two tails as this was the first time I was going out with my sister’s friends.

It seemed like ages till we finally reached the beach. In a matter of minutes, the tent and picnic mats were all set and we started to take pictures. As I hated taking pictures, I grumpily helped them to take and after what seemed like an eternity as the seconds seemed to expand into hours, we were all settled down and played our games. After yet again getting sick of those games, we made some sand figures and my sister’s friend took some funny but obscene pictures. When you are having fun, you lose track of how fast time flies and before we knew it, it was dusk. After a few more rounds of truth or dare, we all packed up and rushed home .It was eight thirty when we reached home after bidding farewell to my new made friends. We decided to go out another time during the holidays and I really look forward to it.

Yes, I got a earful from my mother but she did not scold me that much as she knew I was getting to know my sister’s friends. After today, I learnt that we should not judge a book by its cover and that Time sure does fly when you don’t notice. However, I’m glad that I went out today and not just getting cooped up in the house doing nothing. I look forward to another event like this.
